En avril 2009, Pfizer, d’après certaines informations, parvint à un accord sur les poursuites pénales concernant les essais d’un vaccin conduit en 1996. Pfizer a testé le Trovan, un antibiotique oral, sur des enfants de l’état de Kano au Nigeria. En effet, pour éviter l’important processus des essais cliniques exigé par l’Administration de la Nourriture et des Médicaments, Pfizer décida d’exporter sa production de Trovan.

D’après le câble 09ABUJA671, Pfizer testa son efficacité sur des enfants de Kano durant des épidémies de méningite, avec l’aide de Médecins Sans Frontière. Ces contournements des exigences nationales et internationales de l’éthique médicale mirent les vies des enfants de Kano en danger.

Depuis les essais, il y a eu un procès civil et un procès pénal dans l’état de Kano et à la Haute Court Fédérale. Les avocats de Pfizer ont travaillé étroitement avec l’ancien chef d’état nigérian sur un accord de 75 millions de dollars. La rupture de cet accord donnerait 10 millions de dollars pour les frais pénaux, 30 millions de dollars au gouvernement de l’état de Kano, et 35 millions de dollars aux participants et à leur famille.

Le gouvernement américain était totalement au courant des affaires contre Pfizer au Nigeria et aida Pfizer à développer une nouvelle structure pour conduire de futurs essais au Nigeria. Pfizer considère que le Nigeria est un marché croissant de premier plan et Pfizer travaille à rétablir son image de marque dans ce pays.

MAJ le 4 janvier 2010 : Médecins Sans Frontière a déclaré qu’ils n’avaient jamais participé aux essais cliniques du Trovan avec Pfizer. Médecins Sans Frontière a publié un communiqué de presse officiel à ce sujet ici, dans lequel on peut également lire que Pfizer reconnait la non-implication de MSF et l’inexactitude du contenu du câble.

Doctors without borders are no longer on my list of the good guys. It’s unthinkable that « First Do No Harm » was not in their thinking! It does not surprise me that « We » via one of our drug companies would « Dare » do such an evil thing! They can spin it anyway they chose it will still smell the same! The madness is that those who could care less for the least of these like many Republicans and turncoat Dems. use the future of our children as a ploy in order to get their agendas across.

I should profess that while I believe in certain fellow Americans, I am outraged at those Americans who finally got their head out of the sand but now, at least for some, it seems they stuck it somewhere else where the sun don’t shine.. Wake Up America! It is later then any of us realize.. »We » claim to be a Christian nation. Has Christ not made it clear? Don’t harm a hair on the head of any child! Period! No excuse will do!

MSF spoke out against Pfizer conducting a clinical trial of the drug Trovan during a meningitis epidemic in 1996. MSF staff were present in the hospital where Pfizer conducted this clinical trial on children suffering from meningitis. MSF the first raise public attention to this incident and in no way participated in the clinical trial conducted by Pfizer in Kano state, Nigeria.

Dr. Jean-Hervé Bradol, former president of MSF France, recently told the Guardian newspaper following false allegations made by Pfizer executives that were published in US diplomatic cable released by Wikileaks website: « We have never worked with this family of antibiotic. We don’t use it for meningitis. That is the reason why we were shocked to see this trial in the hospital. »

It’s obvious we, the people, aren’t outraged enough. Maybe it’s the short attention span. The US government has been doing tests on unsuspecting humans for decades.
